Hurricane Dorian & Politics of FEMA Funding

Michael discusses how the FEMA Disaster Relief Fund works and dispels the misinformation in the media about the President’s re-allocation of money from the Disaster Relief Fund (DRF) to border spending. This particular type of reallocation was also done by President Obama and is part of the Executive Branch’s standard process of reallocating already appropriated monies in federal departments and agencies. Michael also points out that while FEMA is not political – and responds regardless of party affiliation or demographics – nonetheless all disasters involve politics.
